I am a member of twitter but solely for work (I had to sign up for testing purposes), I can't understand the point of twitter.

But that's just me.

Pretty much updating a status with content. In this case for WaxLAN, saying when new threads are up, LANs, events etc...

That may be true, but we are a forum based website. We have future updates and stay in touch on this website. That is what it was built for.
