After all this time nice to see Halo 3 still sitting pretty at the top despite the comings of mega games like the COD games and Gears 2. Modern Warfare 2 will unseat Halo 3 for a short while after post launch excitement kicks in. But I predict Halo 3 will eventually regain it's top spot as it always seems to only to be ultimately replaced by Halo: Reach which will feature all new Halo MP.

The longevity of Halo MP is a tribute to the balancing problems which were addressed after Halo 2. Will a game ever be made which can delegate a Halo MP game to 2nd spot on the ladder for a decent length of time? Didn't happen on the Xbox 1 and doesn't look like happening on the 360.

Yeah COD4 did... and it was released after Halo 3. But the older game Halo 3 is back on top. That tells the story as far as who's playing which game more regularly overall. To me it's surprising that newer games like COD4, COD:WAW and Gears 2 are listed below Halo 3. If people think its simply "the new" in games which = good as far as MP longevity then the activity lists are proving them wrong

I think one of the contributing factors is that virtually everyone with a 360 buys Halo 3. There is the odd one here and there that don't, but they are few and far between.

Taking into account not everyone will buy titles like COD and Gears 2 (or don't like their multiplayer), the fact is that the most common game that everyone can sit back and play with their mates is Halo 3.

I could pretty much gurantee everyone on this forum has it.

yeah take me for example i'm a halo fan but i'd play either gears or COD online IF i had the disks.
i don't own them neither do my friends. It's played more simply because it sold more. I'd like to see the table balanced by how many copies a game sold.

if halo3, mw2 will be the games we will be lanning most next year

cant beat halo 3 but Halo 2 > Halo 3 anyday.
