A lot of the guys on this site aren't massive Halo playing types.

An unachievable cash incentive probably doesn't have the same carrot dangle effect it does for serious/pro Halo competitors who may actually have some chance of getting it.

I think you'll need to appeal more to the "be in it for the fun of participating and meeting new people" vibe.

Yeah Agree with GR8, offering me cash that I know I have no chance of winning has the opposite effect on me. With the world cup sweepstakes at least you have a chance (well I did until I drew Slovakia)

I bought Halo (the last one - can't remember it's name - shows what a big halo player i am ) again just so I had the maps and practice for a LAN but haven't taken it out of its shrink wrap.

So in my case playing against pro's and being whupped everytime isn't much fun. If I want to get whupped I just have to tell the missus that she's looking portly lately

i still cant post on acl, but due to us going witha private hall now, i dont see much of cash prize at the end, we may buy some prizes instead

but its got a licenced bar...as well as meal and first drink included in the entry cost
