That would have made sense if you said I bitched about MLG where getting balanced teams is more difficult and lag plays a larger role due to increased damage and speed.

What I meant is that it seems like you should be playing MLG seeing as you think social slayer is so 'cheap', even tho it's all you play.

But apparently you just don't like anything :P

Don't worry nick I found a game that's perfect for you, there's no lag and the teams are perfectly balanced.

Nic... The world loves Halo and COD.... What do you want to play then... It's sure not what the majority wants...
Because when something is popular it has to be good right? LOL

@Skitzy

I only play social because I hate having to wait longer for matches in ranked only to get terrible lag.

The last few times I went into the MLG playlist it was almost always 3-bar European or manipulated host where the average lag was easily over 500ms, not the sort of thing you want to play often.

You seem to have a dent ego since the last LAN, I don't care for whatever your deal is which is why I removed you from my FL.

Dude I've never been anything but friendly to you, If you really want to act like that go ahead, but really? dent ego?

The first time you deleted me you said it was just to 'see what I'd say'. I'm not the kind of guy who bothers playing these little games. You deleted me for good this time? Awesome, I haven't said a peep.

Relax a little, and lets just drop it there.

You can't let lag bother you that much. I'm playing with Americans all the time on Halo 3 because they're my friends from bungie.net and every single game is green bar for them and yellow bar for me. It doesn't bother me, I'm having fun, and it doesn't even lag all that bad.

Actually I've found that American host is the best quality international host for Aussies to play on generally - often even better than our closer neighbours from Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. The worst in my experience is Eastern European host (Finland, Sweden, Italy, France, Germany and Britain), and Canadian host. However of all of those countries listed Canadian and British host probably takes the equal first prize for very worst international host for Aussies to play on and considering their extreme Northern proximity I guess that's not surprising.

So yes I'd play on American host any day over many other international hosts :)

Now I normally play by myself or with one other late at night due to currently working two jobs so latency is generally 3-4 bar mainly because mostly Europeans are on at that time.

I don't play as frequently anymore and even when I had 100 people on my friends list most of the time hardly any of them were on in the wee hours.

On the plus side I think I've gotten better due to playing on worse connections where I have to out BR my opponents by a fair margin to win a fight.

Yup - that's why going to a LAN is fun for me. It's like cutting through butter with a light saber compared to the cutting through buffalo hide with a Gillette shaver that I'm used to from Halo 3 online. :P

this is the first thread i have read after i joined waxlan and my expectations for Reach were higher after i read somethings elsewhere and watched some vids.. and all i have to say is i am looking forward to it.

as far as this thread goes, to a properly new outside and as a hard core gamer for 15 years... Nick.. take your xbox and throw it in the ocean.. if you have such a negative outlook on a game that has been released yet and you are thread shitting.. just do it.. as far as your online mind games.. go out side and meet some RL friends..

or you could always follow the xbox to the sea bed.. it might make this thread more up-beat.

I have played CE and i just finished Halo 2 and i played online halo 3 for a very long time and i have to say.. even tho my order was all arse about i still loved every second of SP and MP of each game.. they all had different good bits and different (f-word) ups.. as far as ODST.. the only interesting bit of that for me was the side storyline you got.

Now obviously im making my first post a very cheerful one.. but seriously.. i like Ferregs approach to reach.. he is a hard core Halo fan boy.. And i listen to him for 8 hours a day waffle his crap on how he wants to touch him self to pictures of J-117 and how he wants his wife to dress up as Cortana.. He is embrassing the new things offered by a game that is not about the master chief like CE-2-3 .. it has different characters.. a different story line.. its set on a different planet in a different time period... WHY CANT IT HAVE DIFFERENT GAMEPLAY YOU SINGLE MINDED TROGLODYTE...

CoD is shallow yes.. but who doesnt enjoy senseless violence with high production values every once in a while..

this is all i have to say on the matter.. and i dont care if Nick doesnt add me on his friends list. Cause ill be at the private HNOP Reach launch.. i will enjoy playing it.. and im sure the others will aswell along with the other 100s of thousands of people that will enjoy this game.

Night all and i hope you all enjoy reach. if you dont give it a go.. u can choke your self with a wireless controller.
