Yeah as long as you do the drawing before people setup their equipment ;) so they can be sitting near their teams. :)

Would be good if we could have areas for the teams before we set up, was kinda hard to co-ordinate with you guys when I was around the corner next to another team.

Also I really do love having a competitive LAN with premade teams, but I think the skill-gap between players/teams here is a little too extreme, we don't necessarily have to arrange teams exactly according to skill, but we should at least do something about it.

Previously we have organised teams, but that was back when you had to be a member of the clan to attend. We had regular training sessions and a fair idea of what everyone's ability was. And we still got it wrong on occasion.

I am still happy to co-ordinate the matches and fixtures for the LAN, but I will have to pass the team organisation onto those wiser (and a bit more patient) than me. I still say we put it to a poll though, no point pissing people off if they are happy with the status quo.

You really need to forcefully balance the teams.

Too bad the handicap option from Halo 2 didn't make it into Halo 3, that was a great feature and I used it a few times when playing Halo 2 vs friends as it made things more competitive and interesting.

Handicap didn't make it into Halo 3 because people used it in Halo 2 to deliberately abuse the system. You can probably still find you tube videos detailing the extent of the glitch. All you needed was a map with a Wraith (Terminal etc). I've seen vids of guys in match making who took the enemy wraith suppressed the enemy base and then used the old wraith/wedge trick to fire the flag carrier across the map directly onto the scoring area.

How it worked was the driver of the wraith puts his handicap up to maximum meaning he can't kill anyone really. Then his team mate would stand up against a curved or angled surface and the wraith would then boost directly into him. Instead of killing his team mate the wraith impact would create it's own version of a man cannon but one so powerful you could reach the tallest buildings or if going sideways go from one side of the map to the other.

Yet another reason amongst 100s why Halo 2 was the glitchiest and most glitch abused game Bungie ever made. Hence handicap was removed because as long as you have vehicles that physics glitch could always be exploited by people on the same team.
