The following are my point of view, thoughts and opinions of some events that took place before, during and after the LAN. These thoughts and opinions will no doubt differ from others but they are mine and weren’t due to any external pressure. I'll try to be brief.
Concerning team changes I was initially on the Red Team but when Mat wanted to come I decided to leave so I could team with him on another team as I had taken the last spot on Red.
I contacted David and asked him if he wanted to team with Mat and I and he agreed. He mentioned Monk but I didn’t think Monk was really interested.
Shorty before the LAN David and Monk must have talked and decided to make Team Monk. It wasn’t confirmed for me until the day of the LAN when I read Monk’s post on the WAXLAN forums.
Upon reading the post I was honestly thinking of not attending because I didn't want to ditch Mat after we had been playing a lot that week. I eventually decided to go after hearing Keree wasn't attending hence my rather late arrival.
I'm sorry to the Red team if they felt I was team hopping but now you know my story.
It is easier to understand the following if you know about the concept of flow.
http://www.jenovachen.com/flowingames/introduction.htmNow I know many people think spawn killing is part of the game but I personally don't feel it is in the spirit of the game nor is it good sportsmanship to implement it excessively especially against first time, inexperienced and gamers that can't fight back due to starting weapons.
In particular I am sorry to the Red team for the Multiflag Narrows match and the team we played Territories against on High Ground due to the excessive spawn killing.
The events during games weren't foreseen by myself, I hadn't played with Monk in months and only social matches with David and Mat before the LAN.
Some people think spawn killing is part of the game but I felt pretty lousy at the end of the night due to a headache and they way things went down.
If the actions of my team disheartened and/or lowered others enjoyment of the LAN I am sincerely sorry.
I appreciate the effort Dan, Greg and others put into making it a great night.
