Waxlan has only been part of a MW ffa once, at the game traders MW2 Launch party...yes it was WaxLan that provided the xbox's for the FFA comp 8-)

So if any one wants to suggest map types please feel free to discuss it here. I tend to only play team so not sure which maps are best for a FFA comp...besides rust :ban:

Rust is good for 4 players Max, best for 2-3 players.

Highrise is good for 6 players MAX, best for 4-5 players.

Quarry is good for 12 players MAX, best for 6-8 players.

Under Pass is good for 8 Players max, best for 4-6 players.

I would suggest a elimination-style round system. 4-6 players per group. Players grouped together through name-out-of-hat system. Top 2-3 players of each group go thru to next round, same again for second round, quater finals where the winners of the final two groups proceed to the final round where the two players face-off in a 1v1.

Suggest starting with Underpass, Karachi, or Rundown for first big rounds.

Then Skidrow, Favela, Terminal, or Quarry for small later rounds.

Maybe finish up with the 1v1 map as Rust, Highrise, or Scrap Yard.

Never bother to use Wasteland in Free For All, because of the lack of cover, players either always camp in the corners of the maps with snipers, or ALWAYS hide in the middle bunker and wait for people to come past them. Very annoying map in FFA as it does not have a very good player flow.

My advice is to not use the maps from the stimulus package as we announced the LAN before they were released.

Mondays - Mass Effect 3 (Or Halo); Tuesdays - Modern Warfare 3.
Starting from about 9pm.

We shouldn't contain the Stimulus Package, since most people havent got it yet. Leading into the LAN then without any practise on the maps, if we decide to go through with it.

Can we maybe chuck in Afghan for the big rounds? I have a soft spot for it.

and IMO highrise shouldn't be a 1v1 map :p

I find highrise really good in 1v1, as even though the map is quite larger than Rust, there isn't really anywhere to hide without someone coming up behind you. There is no corners to back yourself into except the spawns, and because of the spawn layout u can get trapped if you camp at spawn.

Afghan I LOVE in team games, especially CFT. IMO though, the map doesn't flow so well in FFA. If have found a lot of players tend to gravitate towards the Marijuana patch and not much else happens in the rest of the 4/5th's of the map. Equals game where players run into Marijuana patch, get one kill, then die half second later. Rinse and repeat.

I agree. Asking people to buy an expensive map pack to a game which they hardly play is just not cricket. If this was a MW2 clan LAN i'd say "New maps are a must", but since this is a social all-games club, I wouldn't worry about including the Stimulus Map Pack.
