Hi All,

I wanted my 2000th post to be a piece of inane nonsense but this came along and I stopped waiting.

Anyway, if you have any credit etc at GAME, I would advise in removing it ASAP.

If you don't know they are currently experiencing difficulties in getting "Credit Insurance" in short without this you can't get games on credit from the publishers. The words doing the rounds yesterday was that they are looking for a purchaser for their Australian Stores by this Friday.

If this is the case then the purchaser may not honour any pre-orders or points that you have on your account. Myself and Badmotor visited our local GAME as we're on fairly good terms with the manager. The manager advised that they have heard of the goings on, but did advise that they and all other stores are having a major return to base of ALL stock of value, this includes DSi's, AAA software and other expensive non #RD party developed HW EG the MS Steering Wheel.

When we visited there was only 1 DSi game left on the shelves and pretty much the only AAA title was Battlefield. They advised they were honouring pre-orders but chances are they wouldn't be getting more than 1 or 2 additional copies for the shelves.

From a personal standpoint I don't think they'll be around for more than a couple of weeks especially with the way they're recalling everything except pre-owned. In a couple of weeks I reckon they'll have a sale and get rid of everything.

Anyway just a heads up, i'm clearing my credit tomorrow with the Darkness 2.

Cheers
N4T

It doesn't surprise me. With my work going aggressively cheap and having stock (as opposed to Big W and Kmart), I knew there was going to be some fallout.

It's just a shame, because if I had to choose between going to EB or to GAME, I would've chosen GAME.

Yeah I always preferred Game out of the 2. And me and Badmotor always got on with the staff so we got decent deals on trades etc.

But yeah you guys have been aggressive and they haven't been able to compete.

Now with internet if you don't want day 1 purchases you can save $30 - $40 and what with HNs also creating an offshore internet site it's a good time to be an Australian consumer.

Blizzard are giving people back their money if they pre-ordered from GAME.

http://www.diablofans.com/blizz-tracker/topic/222974-regarding-game-australia-preorders/

Quote:
We're aware that some Australian GAME customers have been left out in the cold on what should be the hottest night of the year -- the launch of Diablo III. To help with this situation and get these players into the game as soon as possible, we've put the following process in place.

Australian GAME customers with a valid preorder/prepurchase receipt dated before May 15, 2012 can do the following:
1. Purchase the digital version of Diablo III from http://www.diablo3.com now or anytime before May 21, 2012.

2. Download and start playing when the servers go live!

3. Submit your GAME Australia preorder/prepurchase receipt to us before June 30, 2012.

4. Receive a credit from Blizzard, for the amount you paid in advance to GAME Australia for Diablo III. This credit will be applied to the payment method used for the digital purchase.
We'll post further details here on how to submit your GAME Australia receipt to our customer service team as soon as possible. Stay tuned, and we look forward to seeing you in the Burning Hells!
