Reviews are coming in for MW2.
First one I read has pretty much exclaimed that MW2 is not better than MW1. Campaign is too short at around 6 - 6.5 hrs on 2nd hardest setting. Thats about ODST's campaign duration (and remember many liked to bag ODST for being an "expansion" rather than a true game). Also the review commented on lacklustre / run of the mill mission design for the most part with only one mission breaking the mould.
Well thats disappointing to read.
But on the up side the game looks gorgeous apparently - with amazing detail in the surrounds.
Then another disappointment:
No Party Chat on 360.
Quote:
In their infinite, we-know-what's-better-for-you wisdom, the developer has disallowed Party Chat in the vast majority of the game modes in adversarial multiplayer. The rationale: To prevent cheaters from leveling up faster. Let's ignore the fact that if people really want to cheat this way, they can just call each other on the phone.
Hmmm multiplayer game where you can't remain in Xbox party chat?
Then a comment on another review said that MW2 has superior AI... but a player posted directly beneath his review with this:
Quote:
Not so sure that the AI is that superior, especially at one point where I was crouched at the top of a staircase and no less than 6 enemies came up the stairs one at a time allowing me to shoot them in the face. Surely if the AI was that clever the 6th guy would have thought 'hmmm...... 5 of my mates have just walked up these stairs and died, maybe I shouldn't go up there....'
'Oh well, what's the worst that could happen?'
BANG!
Haha good point... I always wonder exactly how noobie some of the reviewers are. Whether there is something tangible they can point to in the game that allows them to claim the AI is superior to other game AI's already around? Cushy job = writing reviews.
Moved from wrong topic - thanks for pointing that out Darth Ghost!
